For much of my professional life, I have been fervent about standards of art education. In hindsight, this may have been at the expense of recognising engagement with art for its natural wellbeing purposes. This changed during the pandemic and since then I have made a huge shift towards using art for health benefits. Following the death of my mother I sought solace in stitch, a medium new to me which I have since used in school interventions to encourage emotional self regulation. This body of work allowed me to develop continued bonds with my mother and process this loss positively. The culmination of this work is shown below in the work titled 'Continued Bonds'.
